Profile

The Open Directory Project is a non-profit and open content initiative that provides an opportunity for people of all walks of life to make a meaningful contribution to the infrastructure of the Internet. The Netscape Communications Corporation hosts and administers the Open Directory Project (ODP) as part of its commitment to the Web. The ODP offers an open invitation for everyone to join. Just because an editor is listed in a category of your particular interest, that doesn't mean that it is shut off from prospective editors. The ODP is a collaborative venture; having more than one editor in a category is a plus, rather than a minus. You dont have to be a computer programmer to join the ODP. In fact, no special computer experience or software is required. On top of everything else, the ODP is a great group of supportive people working together to make the Internet a better and safer place for everyone.

Note: I only volunteer for the Open Directory Project - I am not affiliated with Google, AltaVista, Excite, Hotbot, Lycos or any of the other 500 plus companies that have the insight to use ODP data on their servers.
